Jan Skylar was a member of the only married news team in the tri-county area, featured on Channel 5. After her former ex-husband's death, she became the lone host of The Morning News with Jan.

Background[]
Jan Skylar and her relationship with Wayne are a parody of public figures who secretly hate each other but try to stay together for views. While appearing as happy-go-lucky news anchors, they're actually part of a very toxic relationship. Though early on they were shown to actually be happily wed off-camera, their relationship and feelings towards each become worse and worse with each passing sketch.
While Wayne is obsessive and controlling, Jan is an instigator and will constantly attempt to bother and push Wayne away (possibly hoping he'll leave the relationship for good). Sometimes she will literally push Wayne away whenever he gets too close for comfort. She loves to make Wayne feel guilty, as revealed when she drank the red wine she was offered by Wayne despite being allergic to it (causing stomach rash and irritation). She also likes to reveal the disgusting parts of their relationship to the public, like revealing that she is biologically unable to support a live birth. While denying Wayne sex, she will constantly flirt with other men in front of him and will very often reveal that she has had plenty of sex in the mean time while Wayne has been chastised. This is especially true with Doctor Steve Brule, who both don't hide the affair too well. They(Jan and Brule) also flirt constantly on camera.
Outside of her relationship with Wayne, Jan is bald and wears a wig. She has a habit of angrily screaming whenever pushed too far or harassed. Jan has a habit of screaming at Mike the editor, who, while doing his job well, doesn't give any feedback to the two news hosts.
The Divorce[]
Jan is frequently seen flirting with Dr. Steve Brule, an act that invariably makes Wayne extremely jealous, and ultimately led to the couple's divorce. However, it was quickly annulled, and they reclaimed their title as the only married news team. In the "Home" episode of Check It Out, Wayne appeared to have died from cancer all over his body, but reappeared during a live performance in 2014. He had survived the cancer, but had his lower half paralyzed. He was healed shortly after, and can walk again.
